After the success of the first Freeze Project in Hollywood, California, a second one was held on Saturday, November 14 of 2009. This freeze came after many other freezes had been organized around the world, including in Seattle, Washington; London, England; Santa Monica, Downtown Disney, Hollywood, San Diego, Irvine and Glendale all in California. The goal of the Hollywood project and all of the projects was to bring awareness to the harsh reality of modern day slavery.
Participants in the Hollywood freeze were instructed to meet at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot located behind Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant, located at Yucca and Hollywood Boulevard. The event, hosted by Karisse Schilling, was scheduled to start after some brief information and instructions.
